Maple is a hardwood typically used with light to medium colored wood stains and all paint finishes. Maple is very durable with excellent dent and abrasion resistance.
Natural and Engineered Veneer materials are the ultimate choice for slab style doors. A natural veneer displays the natural beauty of exotic woods while conserving forestry resources. Engineered veneers are reconstituted from natural wood fibers and can look just like the natural wood. High quality veneer products are typically more affordable, while also being more dimensionally stable for cabinet door construction.
Coconut Palm is a unique and visually stunning sustainable resource. Coconut Palm architectural-grade plywood is made entirely of plantation-grown coconut palms, which have reached maturity and no longer produce coconuts. These older palms are removed and replaced with younger, better producers. Since there is no developed secondary market for felled coconut palms, palm wood is oftentimes burnt for fuel and literally goes up in smoke in many parts of the world. This material will naturally range in color from pale caramel tones to deep browns, has a deep, distinctive grain pattern that naturally separates as the wood ages, and has a unique surface texture and exotic appearance.
Thermofoil is a durable vinyl overlay, thermally sealed to natural wood fiberboard. This results in a surface that is stain and scratch-resistant and very easy to clean. Thermofoil styles have consistent color, gloss and surface quality from edge to edge. Thermofoil is made from PVC which is one of the most versatile polymers. Resistant to fingerprints and reflection, thermfoil doors always look like new.
Cherry is a hardwood typically used with medium to dark colored wood stains. Cherry is durable with good resistance to dents. Cherry typically will darken with age.
Thermally Structures Surface (TSS) products are designed for producing natural finishes and durability, TSS features advanced European technology in a material that emulates the tone and character found in naturally time-worn woods featuring an outer layer that resists chipping, scratches and dents. TFL doors and drawer fronts are made with a Medium Density Fiberboard core, featuring a durable, thermally- fused melamine coating.
Wire-Brushed Finishes are one of the latest trends in solid wood finishing. The process consists of using wire brushes on wood components and removing the soft wood on the surface to give a one of a kind finish to each part. A weathering process ages the wood, creating the effect of timber exposed to the elements for prolonged periods of time.
Walnut feature a smooth, fine and general straight wood grain with colors that range from deep chocolate to light reddish-gray brown. Light yellow or light brown sapwood areas may also be present. Walnut offers warm, rich colors that accept finishes well and is highly prized by cabinet and furniture makers.
Rift-Sawn White Oak is produced by quartering the log then sawing it perpendicular to the growth rings, accentuating the straight, vertical grain. While the look is similar to quarter-sawn lumber, the angle of the cuts is slightly different, minimizing the “flake” effect that is common in quarter-sawn.
Bamboo is one of the most rapidly renewable plants on the planet with some species growing as fast as four feet in 24 hours. A pole of bamboo can regenerate its full mass in just six months and can be continuously re-harvested every three to five years without causing damage to the plant or surrounding environment. Bamboo is also very strong and resilient, which makes for a durable and long lasting building material. With its distinctive grain pattern and remarkable versatility, bamboo is ideal for any residential or commercial environment.
